Grade – Upper Elementary
Level - Intermediate Reading/Conversation Skills
Reading longer articles / magazines / short chapter books
Month 2 Issues
Episodes 1-2 – Tales of the West
Episodes 3-4 – Disaster
Level 3 is for upper elementary school students who are reading longer magazine articles or are starting to read chapter books. The subjects and vocabulary are more mature, suitable for this age range. The focus is on the harder words and phrases that we know many Taiwanese students may not be familiar with at this age. The pace is quicker, and these interesting stories and themes open up the conversation even more. We also welcome Jr. high students to join for some great conversation and fun practice.

Summer Camp 2022 Cancelled

Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide an exceptional STEAM camp experience where kids learn how to experiment, analyze, solve problems, and think for themselves in an English environment.
Camp Description
Our mission is to provide an exceptional STEAM camp experience where kids learn how to experiment, analyze, solve problems, and think for themselves in an English environment.
Dr. Sparks and the S TEAM will help your kids take their English up to the next level in our Summer of STEAM camps in cities across Taiwan. Our whole-English PBL summer camps are created to train Taiwanese students to use their English thinking through scientific problem solving. It’s like an escape room meets a science camp.
Problem Based Learning (PBL) will show your kids how to solve problems using the different disciplines of STEAM. A member of the S TEAM will start each day with an adventure. They will introduce an idea to the students through demonstrations and experiments. Then, a twist in the story will be presented to the students. They will need to work together to identify the problem, brainstorm possible solutions, test and analyze their ideas, and finally solve the problem.
Our camps are designed for Taiwanese students who are learning English. These camps are designed for kids of all English levels. We carefully select language to use sentence patterns and vocabulary that they are already familiar with from school. We don’t focus on teaching them grammar. Instead, we provide them with an English environment that is interesting and challenging where they can activate their English thinking. We will train your children to improve their focus and use of critical thinking in an English environment for longer periods of time.
Our S TEAM teachers are all highly experienced foreign teachers. We are all native English-speaking foreigners with between 5-20 years teaching experience in Taiwan. It’s important for our instructors to understand what it’s like to learn a foreign language and local Taiwanese culture. Our teachers are focused on helping your kids develop their problem-solving skills through highly interactive activities. Our local assistants work closely with our teachers and students to make sure everyone has the help they need. We will have a maximum instructor ratio of 1:8.
