Grade – Upper Elementary
Level - Intermediate Reading/Conversation Skills
Reading longer articles / magazines / short chapter books
Month 2 Issues
Episodes 1-2 – Tales of the West
Episodes 3-4 – Disaster
Level 3 is for upper elementary school students who are reading longer magazine articles or are starting to read chapter books. The subjects and vocabulary are more mature, suitable for this age range. The focus is on the harder words and phrases that we know many Taiwanese students may not be familiar with at this age. The pace is quicker, and these interesting stories and themes open up the conversation even more. We also welcome Jr. high students to join for some great conversation and fun practice.

Mission Statement
Our mission is to create a science camp experience so interesting that your children will be inspired to use their English. The experiments and activities will help train them to use English to explore new ideas. We will show your kids that learning in a whole-English environment is something to look forward to.
We look forward to taking your kids on a journey through these awesome themes. They will get to spend 1 to 2 full days in a whole-English environment, specially designed for Taiwanese kids who are learning English. Even students who lack confidence in their language skills will be able to follow the ideas through our multimedia design and hands-on approach. This is the place where your children's English can really level up.
SPARK CURIOSITY
We pick the coolest experiments to do together. It's so much easier to keep students' attention when they are doing something fun. As we are doing the experiments, we will talk about the principles of how they work. Students will be given challenges to apply what they have learned and are even encouraged to make their own adjustments to the experiments.
ENGLISH THINKING
One of the best paths to English fluency is through English thinking. We demonstrate our experiments in a way that students can follow without having to translate everything in their heads. We include many elements of critical thinking into our activities to help activate their English minds.
Ages
Level 1 - Grades 1-3
Level 2 - Grades 3-6
Grade 3 students who are speaking English confidently can move up to join the older kids.
TEACHERS
Winter Camp 2023 will be hosted by Dr. Sparks and Doc Z. Your kids may know them from our YouTube videos and live shows. Both of our teachers come from Canada and have over 20 years teaching experience in Taiwan.
Our camps will have a maximum of 24 students with a teacher-student ratio of 1:8. Our local co-teachers are confident in an English environment and are there to make sure the students all have help when they need it.
AGES
LEVEL 1 - GRADES 1-3
LEVEL 2 - GRADES 3-6
The themes for both levels are the same. Here is how the 2 levels are different.
Level 1 will have some of the more difficult parts of the experiments prepared for them.
Level 2 will challenge kids more with intricate parts of the experiments that require better fine motor skills.
Level 1 will use a bit more Chinese to help with key words and concepts that students may not be familiar with.
Level 2 will talk about the scientific concepts in more detail. There will be more open questions, conversations, and opportunity for discussions.
Students in grade 3 are welcome to choose which level is more suitable for them. For students less comfortable in an English environment, stick to level 1. Students who are comfortable using English can come up to level 2.
